The injuries keep coming for the Vancouver Canucks. According to Irfann Gaffar of “Daily Faceoff,” Filip Hronek is “going to be out a while with an upper-body injury.” Hronek left Wednesday night’s game with under a minute to play after taking a hard hit from Jack St. Ivany.

With the Canucks off today, an update from Head Coach Rick Tocchet will have to wait until tomorrow. This is not the first time Hronek has suffered an upper-body injury with Vancouver, as he played just four games after being acquired from the Detroit Red Wings during the 2022-23 season. Throughout his NHL career, Hronek has stayed relatively healthy and only missed a few games during his time with Detroit with injury.
Sounds like Canuck Defenceman Filip Hronek is going to be out a while with an upper body injury.

Hronek’s potential absence leaves a massive hole in the Canucks lineup. The right-shot defenceman is averaging 23:36 per game and has formed one of the best duos in the league with Quinn Hughes. Hronek also plays a crucial role on the penalty kill, while his nine points are tied for second among Vancouver’s defensemen this season.
With the Canucks scheduled to play the Buffalo Sabres tomorrow afternoon, the organization will need to make a call-up from the Abbotsford Canucks. While Vancouver does have six healthy defensemen as Vincent Desharnais looks ready to return, they still have three games left on their current six-game road trip. Some call-up options from the AHL include Mark Friedman, Cole McWard and Jett Woo.
As mentioned, the Canucks are in Buffalo tomorrow to face the Sabres for the first time this season. Vancouver is 8-2-0 on the road this year and will be looking to bounce back after a loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Game time is set for noon PT from the KeyBank Center.
