Nikita Kucherov did not play in a Lightning 4-3 shootout loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday because due to an illness, but he was back on the ice for practice in Boston on Friday.
“He’s been like everybody. It seems like something’s been going around the team,” Lightning coach Jon Cooper said before the game on Thursday. “He’s just the next one to get it.”
The Lightning recalled forward Cam Atkinson from Syracuse on Wednesday and Nick Paul slotted into Kucherov’s spot.
Kucherov is third in the NHL with 92 points in 61 games so far this season.
